OU Softball Dominates with Gabbie Garcia's Power Hitting (2026)

Bold statement: OU softball isn’t just good this season—it’s offensively explosive, and the proof keeps piling up. And this is where the momentum gets even more interesting... OU opened a high-octane weekend with a pair of dominating performances, racking up 35 runs across two games on Friday.

Gabbie Garcia (six) and Ailana Agbayani (five) combined for 11 RBIs in an 18-6 run-rule win over New Mexico State in five innings. Garcia produced the Sooners’ lone home run in the second game, while a six-run fifth inning came entirely from the long ball. Freshman Kendall Wells, along with Agbayani and sophomore Tia Milloy, joined the home-run parade and helped push the scoring surge.

Both Garcia and Agbayani logged three hits apiece in the blowout victory.

Kierston Deal and Audrey Lowry had an uneven showing in the circle, each allowing three runs. Lowry earned her fourth win of the season after relieving Deal in the second inning.

OU also posted a strong start against Montana, cruising to a 17-0 win in five innings. Isabela Emerling continued to show she’s ready for prime time, delivering a standout performance with three home runs in that game in Las Cruces, New Mexico. With Emerling heating up and Wells contributing at the plate, the Sooners notched eight team homers—the most in a game since 2021.

Wells didn’t just stand out with her bat; she also contributed two RBIs and even cracked a homer on Friday, signaling a strong start for her collegiate debut.

Emerling’s multi-homer effort and OU’s power display come amid a competitive battle for place-time in the lineup, especially as Wells has begun her career with a bang behind the plate.

Beyond the power display, standout performances in the circle came from Miali Guachino, who earned her first win as a Sooner. In her OU debut, Guachino threw 4.1 innings of no-hit ball, walked one, and struck out six before Berkley Zache finished the game, escaping a jam in the final outs.
